What is a Wet Dream?

Wet dreams can go by a lot of different names.

• Wet dream.
• Nocturnal emission.
• Sex dream
• Orgasm dream.
• Nightfall

The only thing rivaling the amount of names is the sheer amount of misconceptions surrounding them.

• Only guys get them (hah!)
• Only younger people get them (hah!)
• They’re a problem you need to do something about (hah!)
• They just happen you can’t control when (haha!)
• You can’t control who, what or where (hah, hah and hah!)

Whatever you want to call it they’re exactly the same thing and they’re completely normal. The science has been done. The studies are conclusive. Most of the population will have them and remember and a lot more of them will probably of had at least one and not remembered in the morning.

Can I Control a Wet Dream?

Chances are if you’ve found your way here wanting to learn what a wet dream is then you’ve either heard the name or you had one yourself by mistake.

what is a wet dream

A wet dream is basically a dream where you climax in your sleep. Normally you’ll wake up afterwards.

To begin with you might of noticed it just happen. You hadn’t intended it. Maybe you didn’t even know it was possible. It might have involved someone (or several people) you know or it could have been completely surreal. Maybe even a mix of the two.

But, yes, you can control a wet dream. You can learn to control when you have them and what actually happens within that dream.

In fact that’s exactly what we do here on the site. There’s a lot (and wow do I mean a lot) of misinformation surrounding wet dreams and I’m not just talking about the nonsense misconceptions about them.

People think you have to do crazy things just to get them like don’t have any sexual activity for a prolonged period of time and you can only have one once every x number of years.

Nonsense.

If you can learn to control your dreams you can learn to have sex in them. And anyone can learn to do that. That’s exactly why this site started in fact – to teach people how to have wet dreams.

Is There a Cure for Wet Dreams?

I don’t understand it myself but I do get asked from time to time how to stop having wet dreams. In short there’s a few things you can do to reduce the chances (such as drinking coffee and avoiding stimulation before sleep) but it’s as natural as breathing and nothing you can really do to completely stop it from happening.

I mentioned this before physicians a long time ago didn’t know better and used to diagnose wet dreams and night emissions as something which needed to be treated with medication. They were later laughed at and the whole idea thrown out especially when it became evident just how much of the population was ‘afflicted’.

Personally I like being able to control my dreams but even if you have no interest in doing this yourself I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s natural , there’s nothing you need to do about it and at the end of the day not much you really can do.
